Lapsang Souchong — Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong
Lapsang Souchong is a black tea from the Wuyi Mountains with a light pine-smoked note. This is the classic Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong style, where the smoke stays in the background and the tea keeps its natural, soft taste. This character is typical for tea produced directly in Wuyi.
The tea has a calm, balanced profile with gentle sweetness and clean, mild smokiness. It’s a good choice for those who want to try an authentic lapsang without strong or harsh smoke.
Flavor: Light smoke • cedar • prunes • dark honey • caramel • rye bread • spices • resin • raisins • dried fruit • leathery notes • sweet dry-wood finish.
Aroma: Pine smoke with soft notes of honey and dried fruit.

Brewing Guidelines:
- Gongfu: 5–7 g per 150–250 ml, 90–95°C (194° - 203°F), short infusions.
- Classic style: 3–4 g per 250–300 ml, water 90–95°C (194–203°F), steep 2–3 minutes.
The tea handles many infusions. Fully pour out each infusion to avoid bitterness.
Gongfu Cha is a traditional brewing method using more leaf and short repeated infusions that gradually reveal the tea’s flavor and aroma.
