This teapot is made from natural Nixing clay, a material valued for its ability to open tea gently, with depth and clarity. In terms of performance, Nixing stands alongside Jianshui clay — it highlights individual flavor notes, refines the body of the tea, and keeps the aroma clean and intact.
The teapot is crafted in the Han Duo (汉铎) form, known for its balanced proportions and practical, no-nonsense design. This shape is appreciated for its stability, even heat distribution, and controlled pouring, making it well suited for regular Gongfu tea practice.
The 200 ml capacity is especially well suited for pu-erh teas. At this volume, the tea develops evenly and precisely, without excessive bitterness or heaviness, allowing full control over extraction.
The teapot is fully handmade, crafted according to traditional techniques. The proportions are well balanced, the lid fits securely, and the pour is fast, smooth, and consistent — exactly how a properly made teapot should perform.
Nixing Teapot 200ml
Nixing clay is a dense, unglazed ceramic from Qinzhou, Guangxi Province. It is handmade from a natural blend of red and white clay collected along the Qin River, without dyes or glaze. The clay heats gradually and retains warmth well, helping to fully reveal the aroma and structure of tea — especially darker styles such as pu-erh, hei cha, and aged oolongs.
